Ormerod Soda Company

So every year or so (2-3) i like to put together a cool promotional piece to send out to my wonderful clients and hopefully future clients. Basically i'm sending these pieces to all of the advertising agencies in Toronto. Personally i feel that it's SO worth it for the photographer to personally hit the pavement and hand these pieces out. Sometimes you see people sometimes you don't. I just feel bad for the wonderful receptionists at these agencies who have to take these things and hand em out. (i'm honestly sorry i hope you don't hate me)

I've never really been a fan of handing out post cards because they usually just end up in the blue bin, so i tend to send out promos that have a bit of staying power. (Or something that people just feel too guilty to throw away HAH!) In past years i've actually gone around to agencies with a cotton candy machine and spun fresh candy floss right in the agencies. This is a complete mess and i now despise the taste of cotton candy, but beyond all this it got HUGE attention. I had people calling me Cotton Candy Girl....i don't give a rats what they call me as long as they call me. RIGHT?!?

So this time i felt like i needed to do something along the same lines. Fact is, people love food and drink so you can never lose. Unless you go around with, like, smoked kielbasa links....you know what. THAT'S not even that bad. It creates buzz and that's what you want.

So this time i thought SODAS! It's representative of my work. Colourful, vibrant, sugary....and my personality. Bubbly and sweet! ;)

Before any of this could happen i needed to shoot the imagery. So i thought to do some cool flirty, sexy, fun stuff that goes on behind the picket fences of the suburbs. I got 4 amazing models, a 1973 Dodge Charger and a whole lot of sun screen and we turned this shoot day into pretty successful pool party.

I initially approached the guys over at Breadwinner about designing a cool label for my promotional Soda bottles. They were super stoked to sink their teeth into this project and make it bigger and waaay better than what i had originally planned. They came up with the concept of making ORMEROD a town in itself which totally fit the style of the photography i shot for this promo.  We agreed to add some cool elements to the soda bottle too. If you take a second to read the text on the bottle it's pretty awesome.  Coasters and a website would make this idea more interesting and layered. We got Adam from Transmitter Studios on board to design the website and he obviously did an amazing job. So huge shout out to all the great creatives who made my promo cool as heck. so, with that being said....Welcome to the burg of Ormerod and have a look around.  or in others words...HEY LOOK AT ME EVERYONE!

So to see pictures of the actual finished bottles and coasters check out WESTSIDE STUDIO

If you have some more time please come on over to ORMEROD for a fizzy cold one.
